LHS Wind Quintet Takes the Gold
The LHS wind quintet won the gold medal at this year’s MICCA solo and ensemble festival. The piece selected by the quintet was “Blaserquintet G-moll” by Franz Danzi, a very challenging but dynamic classical-period piece. The members of the quintet are all freshmen and have been practicing since January. They are Louisa Slosar on bassoon, Katie Jeong on clarinet, Shannon Woods on flute, Liz Estey on horn, and Andrew Villanueva on oboe. The quintet is coached by Ms. Cami Tedoldi, a student teacher from the University of Massachusetts. The LHS wind quintet will give its award winning performance this Sunday at the MICCA Honors Concert. The concert is at 2:00 at Follen Church in Lexington. Solo performers, chamber groups, and choral ensembles from schools around the state are on tap to play and sing classical and contemporary selections. The concert is FREE and the music is GREAT! See you there!- Katie Jeong 15 May 2008 |
